If these two words seem like maybe they are seperate thoughts, normally I would have agreed with you but, thats not the case today. Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, the creators of the Like A Dragon franchise, have announced their newest game in their series and its a Yakuza, beat ’em up, pirate sim. I love the Yakuza games and they’re known for being qwirky and unique but this especially shocked me. They dropped a 7 minute trailer showing that our main protag is non other then my favorite, Goro Majima. Our eye patched sword wielder is the focal point of our next outing. So, it looks like our boy Majima has lost his memory and stumbles his way into captaining his own ship. The trailer has all the charm i’d expect from a Yakuza game and looks beautiful. We get a run down of new characters and I think i spy former WWE and current AEW wrestler Samoa Joe in there. Sick! I love Majima stories and im sure im going to love this.
Honestly, I love the series for taking chances and doing weird things. They did it when they made their mainline game an RPG and it seems they’re doing it again by making a whole game about pirates.
